59 – The Laws of Paying Wages / Chapter Ten
J. The rule that a poor worker takes precedence over a worker that is well-off applies even if the well-off one already asked to be paid and the poor one has yet to approach the employer, because it is certain that the poor worker will come and claim his pay.
K. A person who hired one worker yesterday and hired a different worker today, and he only has enough money to pay one of them, should pay the one who worked today so that he not transgress bal talin. The employer will pay the other worker later, when he has the money. This rule possibly applies even when today’s worker is well-off and yesterday’s worker was poor — nevertheless, today’s worker should be paid first.
Hashem says to you what is the best and what he demand from you, just do good deeds and Ahavas Chessed and meekness with Elokecha (Micha 6,8)
