Chomas Hadas, Ch. 10 – 50

The verse states, ‘[The Torah] is not in the sky for you to say that we cannot reach it’, and our Sages learned from this that if it was in the sky, we would need to do whatever we could to reach it. From this we learn how essential learning Torah is, to the point that we must do even that which is not physically possible, expecting a miracle.

“And the utterly undoubtable truth is that if the entire world, from one end to the other, would be absent of our engagement and delving into the Torah, even for one moment, literally, then all the worlds - both upper and lower - would be destroyed instantly, and would turn into utter chaos, chas v’shalom…” (Nefesh Hachaim)
