- A person who put a liquid (beverage or soup) in his mouth without reciting the blessing, and who obviously does not have the option to remove it from his mouth without it being repulsive, nor has the option of keeping it to one side of the mouth, may swallow the liquid without reciting the blessing and will only recite the after-blessing. If it is a very small quantity of liquid and he can keep it to one side of his mouth and recite the blessing, he should do so. (Shulchan Aruch, OC 172 with Mishnah Berurah).
2. However, this rule applies only when the person does not have more of the liquid and is pressed to drink only what he has in his mouth. But if the person has additional beverages that he can drink instead, then it is better that he release what he has in his mouth, so that he will not partake of this World without a blessing. (ibid.)
