Laws of Lashon Hara / 2: 5-6 (31)

5. Even if only one of the three listeners is considered a God fearing Jew, or if he’s a relative, or close friend of the subject of their lashon hara, it is forbidden for the other two to pass on the information. This is so, as they can assume that the information will not become public knowledge as he will definitely not be one to pass it on.

6. In a case where it is permitted to repeat something that was originally said in front of three, it can be repeated only to the people in that same city where it was originally said and not any further. This can sometimes apply only to a specific neighborhood, depending on how likely it is for the information to be spread beyond that neighborhood].

“Who is the man who desires life… guard your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking deceitfully” (Tehillim 34:13-14)
