Laws of Lashon Hara / 8: 3-4 – 64
- It is forbidden to speak lashon hara even about a small child if this may cause him hurt or harm. [For example: an orphan growing up in someone else’s home, if one speaks lashon hara about him he might be thrown out]. If one’s intention is for education purposes, and it is clear that what he wants to say is true, he should make sure that something positive will come out of it and no harm, as so often happens.
4. It is forbidden to speak lashon hara about an ignoramus (someone devoid of Torah knowledge), how much more so about a Torah scholar, and how much more so about one who renders rulings of religious law.
Every moment that prerson restrain him mouth he acquiting to the Hidden Light, that there is no Mal'ach and creation to be able Imagine.(Hagra letter)
