6. One who hears rechilus about his friend, even though he has confirmed that what he heard is true, if there is a way to judge him favorably, and he does not do so, but judges him negatively, he is guilty of accepting rechilus.

7. One who is guilty of accepting rechilus and wants to repent – should expel the words from his heart so that he no longer believes them. If it is difficult to believe that what he heard was all an untruth, he should tell himself that perhaps the speaker changed some of the details which changed the story from good to bad. In addition, he should regret his action, confess that what he did was wrong, and commit not to transgress this sin again.
