This book is divided into two parts: A. The laws of lashon hara; laws pertaining to evil and derogatory speech. B. The laws of rechilus; laws pertaining to gossip. Even though many of the laws may overlap, it is written as two parts to make the material as accessible as possible. Secondly, considering the severe nature of these laws, one should not use the laws of the one to learn about the other.
All the laws brought down here are not optional, but the law itself and are required of each and every Jew.
