חיפוש בארכיון

Shem Olam / Ch. 9 – 74

With each word of Torah that a person articulates he performs a positive Torah commandment, and each one creates an angel that commends him before the heavenly tribunal. Even though these angels are countless, their numbers do not diminish their size or fortitude, as it says, ‘to bequeath those who love Me existence (‘yesh’)’, and our Sages learned from the numerical value of the word ‘yesh’, that each tzaddik will merit three hundred and ten worlds of pleasure. ‘… and I will fill their treasure houses’, meaning that their reward will not be limited, and even though there are many tzaddikim all doing many mitzvas, none will be diminished in any way by the sheer multitude, and there is plenty of reward for all.

“And the utterly undoubtable truth is that if the entire world, from one end to the other, would be absent of our engagement and delving into the Torah, even for one moment, literally, then all the worlds - both upper and lower - would be destroyed instantly, and would turn into utter chaos, chas v’shalom…” (Nefesh Hachaim)
