Regarding supporting Torah learning, a person should know that someone who supports Torah learners will know the Torah in the next world even if he was completely ignorant in this world. This is self-evident, since he will obviously be rewarded for the Torah he supported, and the ultimate reward is knowledge of the Torah itself, he must necessarily know the Torah in the next world to be rewarded properly.
A person should, therefore, think carefully how much he should be supporting Torah. If someone offered to implant a whole maseches in his brain, he would surely pay a mint for such a spiritual treasure even in this world, all the more so in the world to come where the value of Torah is evident to all. By supporting someone else learning in this world he will fully appreciate the Torah he acquired in the world to come.
If a person internalizes this knowledge he will run after Torah scholars to support them and be close to them, much more than people run after a good business partner.
