The Laws of Charity – 5
1) The commandment to give charity is a very great one, and there is no other positive commandment which one is obligated to hasten to do more than charity. It is likewise a sign of the descendants of Avraham, about whom it is said “For I know him in order that he should command his children and household members after him to guard the way of Hashem to perform acts of charity and justice”. Chazal also said that this commandment is equal to all the other commandments. (Kitzur Shulchan Aruch 34)
2) One who chases after opportunities to give charity, can be sure that Hashem will give him money to perform charity, and that He will make available for him deserved people about whom when he does good for them, his righteousness will endure forever. He can likewise be sure that he will receive his reward even in this world, in himself, his own money, and children who are occupied with Torah and commandments and who are wealthy and respected.
