The Laws of Lag Ba’omer (3)
1) Many have the custom to ascend on the thirty third day of the Omer to the monument at the grave of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai. This is an ancient custom. Many who do not have this custom still try to strengthen himself in learning Torah wherever they are.
2) There are those who have the custom to cut their children’s hair for the first time on this day and in the above place. By doing this they teach them the commandment of leaving the corner of the hair of the head unshaved. The Ar”I Zal did this to his own son, and did it with feasts and rejoicing.
"Moshe corrected them to Israel, to be asks and demands on the day's issue, laws of Pesach on Passover, laws of Atzeret at the assembly, the laws of festival on the festival" (Megillah 32)
