The Laws of Prayer/The Shema (81)
1) Seeing that women are not obligated to recite the Shema, they are also free from the blessings of the Shema. However, if they want, they are allowed to make those blessings. The verses of praise which are said before the above blessings are, however, part of the daily service, and as such, since women are obligated to pray, they are also obligated to recite them. (Mishne Berurah 65)
2) The time set aside for praying continues until the end of the fourth hour of the day, and if he prayed after this time, even though he does not receive reward like one who prays at the correct time, he still receives reward for praying. After midday, however, it is forbidden to pray the morning services. (ibid)
