Laws of Blessings – 49

1. A person who ate baked goods whose first blessing is Mezonos(“nourishment”) and also fruit from among the Seven Species, and also drank wine, recites one after-blessing that encompasses all three, in this order: “for the nourishment and the sustenance, andfor the vine and the fruit of the vine, and for the tree and the fruit of the tree.” The person then concludes the blessing thus: “for the land and for the nourishment and for the fruit of the vine,, and for the fruit” (Shulchan Aruch and Mishnah Berurah 208).

2. Even if the person ate grapes and drank wine, the after-blessing of “for the vine” does not count for the grapes and he must mention both “for the vine” and also “for the tree” (ibid.).

The wise man says: I shall learn two halachot today, and two tomorrow, until I learn the entire Torah entirely… (Vayikra Rabba)
