The laws of washing hands for a meal – 20

1) Anyone who is about to eat bread must wash his hands, even if he does not intend to touch the food. One who touches food without eating, is not obligated to wash his hands. Consequently, if Reuven feeds Shimon by inserting the food directly into his mouth, Shimon must wash his hands and not Reuven. (Shulchan Aruch and Mishne Berura 162)

2) Even one who eats bread with a fork without touching the bread at all must wash his hands. (ibid)

The wise man says: I shall learn two halachot today, and two tomorrow, until I learn the entire Torah entirely… (Vayikra Rabba)
