1) Even after the end of the festival of Sukkos, when the Sukkah is now permitted to be used, one must still use the Sechach only in a respectful manner like all items which have been used for holy purposes, and one should therefore not throw them in a place where people might tread on them, and he himself should definitely not tread upon them. 2) Some say that one must treat even the walls of the Sukkah with respect, and not treat them in a disgraceful manner. (There are some who extent this even to the decorations of the Sukkah). (Mishne Berurah ibid)
