If a person is troubled about the empty things of this world, this comes from lack of sense. Whichever way he looks at it, if it is something which can be rectified rectify it and be saved and if it cannot be rectified what will it help to be troubled and in pain about it?
Pain is something given over to the heart and the evil inclination changes things around and brings pain about the empty matters of this world into a person’s heart and the pain of heaven is then forgotten from the heart and no-one feels the pain of heaven. A pure man will hold on to pure thoughts to do the correct thing in its time and way’ he will not swap it or change it, and he comes to purify himself will be helped by heaven. Since the shadow of our days is on this world, what will a person gain from all of his work and labor if he lives a life of pain? There is no good for a person other than being happy with his lot and trusting in Hashem and doing good!
