Laws Relating to Squeezing Fruit on Shabbath and Yom Tov
8.a. One may improve the taste of food by extracting juice from it, so long as this is done immediately prior to the meal.
8.b. It is thus permissible to squeeze excess vinegar or saltwater out of pickled cucumber, to make it more tasty.
8.c. Any juice removed may be used afterwards.
9.a. Bread may be dipped into soup or any other liquid and then sucked, but it is proper to eat a little of the bread each time one sucks it.
