חיפוש בארכיון

34. Amen / אמן (b)

When reciting kaddish, one must take care to say it properly, for if he mispronounces the words he may inadvertently] blaspheme and curse the Almighty]. Besides the punishment he deserves for the blasphemous pronunciations, he will also be punished for having caused the listeners to answer amen improperly. Similarly, when reciting the blessings over the Torah reading and the Haftarah, one should take care to say them slowly and clearly so that those listening can answer amen.

When reciting Kaddish in memory of one’s deceased] parents, one should be aware of how he is saying it, for if he recites it improperly, he not only does not bring peace to them — he does the opposite.

“My brothers and my nation, take this sefer Torah, and with this, and like this learn well, so that you should have it good; listen and enliven your soul, and achieve gladness and joy in this world and the world to come” (From the author’s intro.)
