Categories of Muktzeh

Laws specifically relating to muktzeh on Yom Tov are explained in Chapter 21.

 

MUKTZEH MEI CHAMATH CHESRON KIS

22.a. Anything

1) to which a person allots a fixed place on account of its special value and

2) which one is particular not to move about, lest it be damaged,

is also muktzeh mei-chamath chesron kis.

22.b. Examples are

1) a wall clock and

2) a valuable painting.

22.c. Similarly, a heavy cupboard which one is careful not to move from the position in which it stands, for fear that this may result in its being damaged, is muktzeh and may not be moved, although one may open and close its doors.
