Categories of Muktzeh
Laws specifically relating to muktzeh on Yom Tov are explained in Chapter 21.
MISCELLANEOUS CASES CONNECTED WITH MUKTZEH
83. If one has a bunch of keys including a key which is muktzeh, such as a key used exclusively for a car’s ignition or for operating an elevator (lift), one should extract the muktzeh key before Shabbath. (See paragraph 77b above.)
84.a. An empty notebook (exercise book) is muktzeh. (See paragraph 5 above.)
84.b. Where an exercise book is partly empty, then,
1) If the written pages are of some importance to one and one sometimes reads them,
a) it is not prohibited to move the exercise book on account of the blank pages that it contains,
although
b) it is best to refrain from leafing through the unused sheets, whereas,
2) if one attaches no importance whatever to what is written and never reads it, one should not move the exercise book at all.
