There are people who hear about the greatness of the commandment to the one’s income and want to fulfil it, but find it difficult to keep it constantly as one has to also tithe the capital and a rich man will find that he has to give a large amount of money in one go, and people find this difficult, and therefore hold themselves back. In truth, one who calculates the reward for a good deed against its loss, will never hold himself back, and tithe even a large amount of money. However, one who finds it difficult to do this, and cannot force his evil inclination to allow him to separate a tenth of his capital for charity, should still make sure that he separates a tenth of all his profit etc. from then onwards. One should separate even from something which one finds, a present or charity, both if he receives money and things which have a value. This matter will enable blessings to rest upon his house and wherever he rests his hands.
