Hilchos Purim – 14 / Gifts to the Poor (b)

1. When it comes to money that is distributed on Purim (“Purim money”), we are not exacting to investigate who is truly a poor person. Rather, any person who extends his hand to ask for tzedakah is given [without question](Shulchan AruchandMishnah Berurah694).

2. In localities where the custom is to give Purim money to gentiles as well – it is permissible, for the sake of peace [and goodwill] (ibid.).
