Hilchos Pesach – 22 / Afikomen
1. It is forbidden to eat anything after eating theAfikomen, so that the flavor of the matzah will not canceled by the other food, since theAfikomenis a remembrance of the Pesach offering. After the fact, is one ate any food, he must eat another piece ofshemurah matzah(matzah guarded for the mitzvah) for the sake ofAfikomen. Likewise, it is forbidden to drink any beverage, other than water, after eating theAfikomen(Shulchan AruchandMishnah Berurah 478).
2. The matzah of theAfikomenis to be eaten in a single location. Even within the same room, one is not to move from one table to the next. The reason for this is that this matzah is a remembrance of the Pesach-offering which was forbidden to be eaten in two locations(ibid.).
Hilchos Pesach – 23 / Afikomen
1. The Afikomen is eaten at the end of the meal, just as the Pesach offering was eaten in a state of fullness. However, the person must have some appetite for this eating, and therefore one should not eat too much during the meal, for if one has no appetite to eat the Afikomen it is not an ideal fulfillment of the mitzvah (Shulchan Aruch and Mishnah Berurah 476).
2. But if the person is so full that he is disgusted with eating the Afikomen then even if he forces himself to eat it, he did not fulfill his obligation whatsoever. Gross eating is not considered eating at all (ibid.).
