Laws of Lashon Hara / 10: 13-14 (79)

13. It is permitted to speak lashon hara about one who has caused harm to the speaker himself, if by doing so he can reclaim his loss or prevent further hurt or embarrassment It may be permissible to speak lashon hara if doing so will help allay his fears], only under the following conditions.

14. These are the conditions: A. He saw it firsthand. B. He is certain that according to the law he is right. C. He cannot convince the culprit to right the wrong. D. He will speak only the truth and will not omit details that will cast the subject in a better light. E. His intention must be for a constructive purpose. F. There is no other way to effect a solution, and any negative details that can be omitted while still accomplishing the purpose, should be omitted. G. The report will not cause the culprit any harm which is not sanctioned by Torah law.
