The Laws of Prayer /Verses of Praise (27)

1. When one reaches the verse “For all the gods of the nations are worthless objects, and Hashem made the heaven!”, one should pause in between the word “Elilim” and the word “VaHashem”. (Shulchan Aruch and Mishne Berurah 51)

2. In a similar vein, when there are words which end with the letter “mem” and the next word starts with an “aleph” or “ayin”, one should make a point of separating the words, so it does not appear as if the second word starts with a “mem”. (ibid)

The wise man says: I shall learn two halachot today, and two tomorrow, until I learn the entire Torah entirely… (Vayikra Rabba)
