8. Before a marriage has been finalized, one may tell a groom that his father-in-law has no intention of fulfilling his commitment, if he knows that the groom would reject the match if he knew this. He must also be sure that the groom himself has been honest and straightforward with his prospective father-in-law, and the required conditions must be met [A.He is certain of the problem. B. He must not exaggerate. C. His intention is for a constructive purpose. D. There is no other way to effect a solution. G. The report will not cause the subject any harm, which is not sanctioned by Torah law].
9. Once a marriage match has been finalized, if the groom will only be concerned regarding what you tell him, or, he’ll ask a rabbinic court of law, it is permitted to tell him, when the conditions are met. However, if when hearing what you say, he’ll immediately cancel the match, it is forbidden to tell him.
