12.a. It is forbidden to sort books with the object of putting them in their proper places in the bookcase.
12.b. 1) However, if one desires to clear the table of books, one is allowed to pick them up one by one, as they come to hand, putting each into its place in the bookcase.
2) This is because one’s object is only to clear the books off the table, not to sort them.
13.a. Printer’s proofsheets are muktzeh under the category of kli she-melachto le-issur
13.b. One may not read them so as to find out where they require amendment, because there is a risk that, in the course of reading, one may also correct errors.
13.c. It is perfectly in order to read them with the intention merely of understanding their contents, in the same way as one would read or study an ordinary book.
