There are many things to read which are faithfully effective, like the service of the offerings and reading Tehillim etc., but the importance of each one depends on the intention of the heart and it is better to say a small amount with the right concentration than saying a lot without the correct concentration, and the one who chooses what to say should choose according to his knowledge and according to the amount of time that he has; he should take advice from a wise man which reading is more important before Hashem. How good and pleasant it would be if he would always carry in his bosom a small holy book of Tehillim or ethics, so that even when sitting in his shop he should have the holy book with him and read in it at any time that he is free. He should not worry that others will mock him for this. It might even be that other people will learn from him and he will not only gain merit for himself, but he will also gain merit for others. The greatness of the Torah is fitting to shield him so that blessing will rest upon him, and it will be considered for him as if he had occupied himself with the biblical law, and if a person reads the Torah in any spare time that he has, it is considered for him as if has read for the entire day.
