The Laws of Prayer (The morning services) (13)

1. A person must stand to pray before Hashem dressed with respectable clothes, in the same way that people would customarily dress in that place when going to meet great men. It follows that one should go with covered feet, except in the very hot countries where it is customary to go barefoot even in front of important people. (Shulchan Aruch and Mishne Berurah 90)

2. One should not pray when wearing gloves, as this is arrogant. (ibid)

The wise man says: I shall learn two halachot today, and two tomorrow, until I learn the entire Torah entirely… (Vayikra Rabba)
