The Laws of Prayer (The morning services) (24)

1. One who is praying the Amidah, should stand like a servant before his master, with awe, fear and trepidation. He should not place his hands on his hips, as this is a way of showing arrogance. (Shulchan Aruch and Mishne Berurah 95)

2. One should move when praying, as it says “All of my bones will say, “Hashem, who is like You?””. (Mishne Berurah ibid) There are, however, others who argue with this and say in the name of the Zohar that one should not move at all when praying. (One should only move while learning the Torah.) (Kaf Hachaim ibid)

The wise man says: I shall learn two halachot today, and two tomorrow, until I learn the entire Torah entirely… (Vayikra Rabba)
