The Laws of Prayer (The morning services) (35)

1. Since a person’ prayers represent the offerings, one should insist that they should be like an offering in the following ways: 1. There should be no foreign intentions mixed into it (as we find “Piggul” in the offerings). 2. He should pray standing like the service of the offerings. 3. He should have a fixed place to pray, like an offering which had a fixed place to be offered up. 4. He should try not to have anything separating between himself and the wall, like an offering when something separating between his hand and the vessel invalidates the offering. (Shulchan Aruch and Mishne Berurah 98)

2. It is correct for a person to have designated clothes for prayer, like the clothes of the priests. It is understood that not everyone can afford to do this. (ibid)

The wise man says: I shall learn two halachot today, and two tomorrow, until I learn the entire Torah entirely… (Vayikra Rabba)
