The Laws of Prayer/Blessings (11)

1)    One who makes the blessing on the Torah and has already learned something, even though he then stops learning and goes about his affairs, if he recommences his learning he is not obligated to make the blessing again, and it is not considered a break between the blessing and the learning, as everyone always has in mind that if he will have any free time he will learn, even at a time when generally he does not learn. (Shulchan Aruch and Mishne Berurah 47)

2)    One who sleeps in a way which is not fixed, it is not considered a break in the learning, and if he wants to learn he is not obligated to make the blessing on the Torah. If, however, he went to sleep properly, there are those who maintain that nevertheless he is not obligated to make the blessing, and others hold that if he wants to make the blessing, he is allowed to. (ibid)

The wise man says: I shall learn two halachot today, and two tomorrow, until I learn the entire Torah entirely… (Vayikra Rabba)
