“Tranquility” is a good thing, as Chazal said “Eat onions and live in the shade!” which means that you should minimize your expenses and if necessary eat only onions to be able to sit in your house and not sell it. They tell a story about a pious man who regularly prayed to Hashem “Please save me from scattering my soul!” which refers to wanton spending of money. In Proverbs it says “Dry bread with serenity is good!”. Chazal also said “A man should always teach his son a clean, easy profession, and pray to He who owns all wealth!” One who trust in Hashem and believes in Him in truth and complete trust, that He is the One who gives strength to achieve anything, and that He has no limitations to prevent Him saving anyone big or small, and that if a person will run like a deer and work hard to become rich, he will still not get more than was fixed for him in heaven, and that if he will do slightly less work he will not receive less, such a man will achieve tranquility (which is good) to perform the service of Hashem, and he will not travel on long roads which lessen his strength and shorten his life, and as we all know that all roads are presumed to be dangerous, and even if by a miracle he survives, it reduces his merits. Woe to a person who has to reduce his merits in order to gain money. Chazal said in truth as an allusion to this idea, the verse says “Fortunate are those who sit in Your house!”.
