The saying of Chazal that “Whoever causes merit to many, the merit of the many is attributed to him!” is well-known, and Chazal said even more than this when they said that “Whoever causes merit to many, no sin will come to his hand!”. There are many ways of giving merit to others. One way is through Torah, like teaching people Torah, fear of Hashem, and the correct way to behave, and to teach in public words of Mussar (character rectification) and the statutes and laws of Hashem. Even if he does not see that his words have an immediate effect, maybe in the future they will have consequences, and even if he does not affect one hundred people, he will at least affect ten, and if not ten, at least one.
How good and pleasant it would be to write a book of concise laws, words of Mussar and correct behavior, for with this writing he is considered like speaking before tens of millions of Klal Yisrael, and maybe one day in a certain future generation his words will have an effect on even one Jew, and give him merit. It is well-known how much the holy Zohar spends time discussing the great reward set aside for one who causes merit to the guilty.
