In the same way as the power of a good deed done by many is very great and strong, so too on the other hand a sin performed by many is extremely severe and its evil is doubled and quadrupled. One must feel pain about those sins that people have trodden on and have become permissible in their eyes when they come together in groups to speak idle speech and with multitude of words iniquity will not be stopped such as falsehood, mockery, gossip etc., and others gather together to eat non-obligatory meals. Every person should consider that which it says in Tehillim “Fortunate is the man who has not walked, … and has not sat together with the sitting of mockers; but his wishes are in the Torah of Hashem!”, and every person should fulfil that which it says in the end of that verse “And speak about his Torah by day and night!”.
