Laws Relating to Animals on Shabbath and Yom Tov

LEADING AN ANIMAL OR ALLOWING IT TO PERFORM A FORBIDDEN ACTIVITY

1.a. In certain cases, the Torah prohibited the performance by animals of activities which are forbidden on Shabbath or Yom Tov.

1.b. Details appear in the following paragraphs, but broadly speaking, the prohibitions relate to two sets of circumstances:

1) the performance by an animal of a forbidden activity while being led by a Jew, and

2) the performance of a forbidden activity by an animal belonging to a Jew.
