Specific laws relating to the transfer of objects from one place to another on Yom Tov are dealt with in Chapter 19.
ARTICLES WHICH ARE WORN
12.a. There are two types of tachshitim
1) items of a purely ornamental or decorative nature such as jewelry, and
2) other items (not being articles of clothing) which are required for the purposes of the human body.
12.b. 1) It is the common practice to go out into reshuth ha-rabbim wearing tachshitim of the first kind (decorative)
2) They must not, however, be carried in the hand.
3) While the practice of weaning tachshitim of this kind is widespread and justifiable on a few grounds the halachic authorities nonetheless indicate that, where possible, it is preferable not to follow it.
12.c. 1) In most cases, it is perfectly in order to go out into reshuth ha-rabbim with tachshitim of the second kind, so long as one is wearing them in the way they are usually worn on an ordinary day of the week.
2) A few exceptions to this rule will be apparent from the succeeding paragraphs.
