Hilchos Sefiras Ha’omer – 3

1. Women are exempt fromSefiras Ha’omer. Some say that even if they wish to count [voluntarily], it is preferable that they do so without reciting a blessing, out of concern that they will forget to count on one of the days (Mishnah Berurah 489:3).

2. One should stand while reciting the blessing and counting Sefiras Ha’omer. After the fact, if the person recited the blessing and counted while sitting, he did fulfill his obligation (Shulchan Aruch and Mishnah Berurah 489).
