Laws of Grinding, Chopping, Crushing and Grating on Shabbath (107)

13.a. If one wishes to prepare porridge, farina, semolina, rice (either ground or whole) or cornflour which was cooked prior to Shabbath but has since dried up, one may, on Shabbath,

1) pour hot water over it, even from a keli rishon,

2) loosen it by stirring and

3) dissolve any lumps by pressing them against the plate with a spoon (but, due to the prohibition against selection, one may not remove just the lumps, if one does not intend to eat them).

13.b.If the porridge, farina, semolina, rice or cornflour, although cooked before Shabbath, is still of a thin consistency,

1) hot water may be poured into it only from a keli sheini or, alternatively,

2) it may be put into hot water in a keli sheini.

c. See also Chapter 1, paragraphs 46 and 47 and, for definitions of keli rishon and keli sheini, Chapter 1, paragraph 2.
