Laws of Lashon Hara / 8; 11-2 (66)

1. It is forbidden to speak lashon hara; whether the speaker is a male or female, a relative or non-relative, even in a case where as a result of one relative’s love for another he does not mind the speaker speaking about him. Even if one speaks as he is driven for the truth, if he’s mistaken, it is lashon hara.

2. It is forbidden to speak lashon hara whether about a male or a female, or even one’s spouse and family members.

“Who is the man who desires life… guard your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking deceitfully” (Tehillim 34:13-14)
