7. One is forbidden to tell his friend that someone has stolen from him or hurt him, before all the conditions that are written above are met . He is certain of the harm. B. He must not exaggerate. C. His intention is for a constructive purpose. D. There is no other way to effect a solution. G. The report will not cause the subject any harm, which is not sanctioned by Torah law]. Also, one must first rebuke the culprit. Only if he refuses to accept his words of rebuke, may he then tell the person.

8. There is no difference between one who tells of his own free will, or if one’s friend asks him to tell him.

It is also forbidden to tell others, as words spread, and the person who’s been effected by the culprit will also get to hear about it.
