חיפוש בארכיון

Nidchei Yisrael / Ch. 35 – 94

When a person wants to do teshuva, besides changing his ways and repenting the past, the main thing is to increase his Torah learning, whether in Scriptures, Mishna, or Talmud. This is stated in Midrash Raba, if a person sins and deserves a death penalty, what can he do to rectify it and live? If he was used to learning one daf he should learn two, if he was used to learning one chapter of mishnayos he should learn two, and if he does not know how, he should collect money for the poor, and with this merit he will live.

“And the utterly undoubtable truth is that if the entire world, from one end to the other, would be absent of our engagement and delving into the Torah, even for one moment, literally, then all the worlds - both upper and lower - would be destroyed instantly, and would turn into utter chaos, chas v’shalom…” (Nefesh Hachaim)
