Since the whole purpose of coming down to this world was to collect Torah and mitzvas to increase our reward in the world to come, the Torah urges us to utilize every moment here. Although man’s sojourn in this world is brief, with every word of Torah a person can gain another Torah commandment, another protecting angel. Thus, in one day one can earn thousands of mitzvas, thousands of angels created through learning, and with persistence day after day, one can become a vast magnate in the world to come.
