PROHIBITIONS UPON THE TRANSFER OF OBJECTS FROM ONE PLACE TO ANOTHER ON SHABBATH

6.a. The Torah prohibits the transfer of objects, on Shabbath, from reshuth ha-rabbim to reshuth ha-yachid or vice versa.

6.b.The transfer is prohibited, regardless of whether the object

1) is carried in the hand or in one’s pocket,

2) is dragged along the ground,

3) is passed over into the hand of another person or

4) is thrown or rolled from one reshuth to the other.

6.c. The transfer is prohibited even if the person performing it remains in the same spot.

7. The Torah also forbids one to transfer objects a distance of four amoth or more within reshuth ha-rabbim, by any method whatsoever.
