Specific laws relating to the transfer of objects from one place to another on Yom Tov are dealt with in Chapter 19.
ARTICLES WHICH ARE WORN
25.a. In accordance with the contents of paragraph 24a and b above, a lenient attitude is taken to a man’s going out into reshuth ha-rabbim wearing
1) a handkerchief solely for decorative purposes in the top pocket of his jacket,
2) a feather stuck in his hatband or
3) the badge of a movement or organization or a medal or other sign of distinction on his lapel.
(But see paragraph 12 above.)
25.b. However,
1) a doctor should not go out into reshuth ha-rabbim with a name-tag pinned to his clothing and
2) a person should not go out wearing a ribbon or tag to identify his position or function, as in the case of a steward or usher,
since these are not, strictly speaking, decorative or ornamental in nature.
26. A woman is forbidden to go out wearing
a. a key attached to a bracelet, even if the bracelet is made of gold, or
b. a watch hanging from a chain around her neck, even if both the watch and the chain are made of gold.
