Categories of Muktzeh

Laws specifically relating to muktzeh on Yom Tov are explained in Chapter 21.

 

KELI SHE MELACHTO LE-ISSUR

15.a. A utensil which is used for cooking and not usually for keeping food in, is a keli she-melachto le-issur

15.b. One may move it

1) in the circumstances set out in paragraphs 7 to 10 above or

2) if it contains food.

15.c. Examples of such utensils are

1) a frying pan and

2) a spit on which liver is roasted.

15.d. The lid of a pan is treated in the same manner as the pan.
