Chapter 22

General Principles Relating to Muktzeh on Shabbath and Yom Tov

ARTICLES WHICH NOT EVERYBODY WOULD USE

48.a. 1) Something which its owner considers to be of value, but which he would not use because it is prohibited to him personally, is not muktzeh

2) It may be moved by anyone, since it is fit to be used by other people.

48.b. Examples of things of this kind which are not muktzeh

are

1) articles from which their owner has vowed not to derive any personal benefit and

2) undefiled teruma owned by a person who is not a kohen, at a period in time when the laws of purity and defilement are observed.
