MAKING PREPARATIONS ON SHABBATH AND YOM TOV FOR A SUBSEQUENT DAY
69.a. It is, in general, forbidden to make preparations
1) on Shabbath or Yom Tov for an ordinary day of the week,
2) on Yom Tov for the intermediate days of the festival,
3) on Shabbath for Yom Tov,
4) on Yom Tov for Shabbath (except as mentioned in paragraph 85 below),
5) on the first day of Yom Tov for the second, whether
it be the second day of Rosh Hashana or yom tov sheini shel galuyoth, or
6) on one Shabbath for another.
69.b. The prohibition is applicable even if the preparation is necessary for the purposes of a mitzva which is to be performed immediately after Shabbath or Yom Tov ends.
