MAKING PREPARATIONS ON SHABBATH AND YOM TOV FOR A SUBSEQUENT DAY
72.a. One is allowed to sleep on Shabbath, even if one’s sole purpose in doing so is to enable one to stay up late after Shabbath.
72.b. Nevertheless, a person should not say, on Shabbath that he is going to sleep so that he will not be too tired to work after Shabbath.
73. It is forbidden, before Shabbath has ended, to prepare the wine for havdala, but
a. one is permitted (provided there is an eiruv and carrying articles about is allowed) to bring a bottle of wine to a place where one intends to drink it at the third Shabbath meal as well as to use it subsequently for havdala, and,
b. if it will be difficult to obtain wine for havdala afterwards, one may bring it before Shabbath terminates (provided there is an eiruv, so that carrying articles is allowed), but not so late that it becomes obvious that one is bringing it for after Shabbath.
