MAKING PREPARATIONS ON SHABBATH AND YOM TOV FOR A SUBSEQUENT DAY

74. One should not take a prayer book to the synagogue on Shabbath (even in a place where there is an eiruv) with the intention of praying from it after Shabbath, unless one also makes some use of it before Shabbath is over.

75. When Purim occurs on Sunday, one should not bring the scroll containing the Book of Esther to the synagogue while it is still Shabbath, even where there is an eiruv, unless one also reads from it a little during Shabbath.
